Katherine Crook PRS Executive Secretary (Minutes Secretary)

On qualifying as a physiotherapist, I gained clinical practice experience in both the NHS and private practice, and teaching experience in higher education.

More recently, I finished my PhD which looked at the use of psychology within physiotherapy practice.  During this time, I worked as a research assistant gaining experience of participatory, performance-based research.

My research interests are in psychology within physiotherapy, physiotherapists’ mental health and wellbeing, the importance of the self in physiotherapeutic relationships, and arts-based research methods.

I have contributed three book chapters on the topics of psychology in physiotherapy practice and photo-elicitation as a research method.  I enjoy the writing process immensely, supported by my previous degrees in English.

As an independent PhD student, I have experience of sourcing, applying and securing individual research funding.
