I am the Director of the Physiotherapy Innovation Laboratory, and an Honorary Clinical Physiotherapist at Northumbria Healthcare NHS foundation trust and a Vice Chancellors Senior Research Fellow at Northumbria University.
I completed his PhD and initial post-doctoral training at Newcastle University and underwent post-doctoral training at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in USA.
I have previously held a prestigious Parkinson’s Foundation post-doctoral fellowship for basic scientists, and I currently hold a Parkinson’s Foundation Clinical Research Award.
I have also led on several other industry collaborative clinical research projects, as well as being co-investigator on various other projects.
I have held a number of leadership roles both nationally and internationally, including several society committee roles and editorial roles for international journals.
My research uses novel digital technologies to improve mobility and function through understanding the mechanisms involved in clinical assessments and rehabilitation for those with neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease or mild traumatic brain injury.
