I am currently working as an associate professor at the HAN University of Applied Sciences, research group Occupation & Health in the Netherlands as well as a physiotherapist and manual therapist in a private practice and is a board member of the Dutch Association for Manual Therapy and is the Member Organisation delegate of the Netherlands in the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists.
My current research topics include (work related) musculoskeletal conditions, self-management, shared decision making, work focused healthcare, and safe treatment of the cervical spine.
I have given many (inter)national presentations and chaired focused symposia at World Physiotherapy congresses in 2017, 2019 and 2021 at the IFOMPT conference in 2016 and I have also published about 30 peer-reviewed articles and has been successful in obtaining more than 800.000 euro in research funding (as primary applicant or co-applicant).
As well as my role on the PRS Executive committee as Executive Officer I am also an associate editor of BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders and a member of the International Advisory Board of Musculoskeletal Science and Practice.
